Pollak Industries
Pollak Industries is a manufacturing division of ARC Gateway, providing various training and employment opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities.
Program participants have opportunities to earn an income and develop marketable skills and habits. They can choose to do sub-contract work or manufacture plant sleeves, survey stakes or concrete products.
Vocational evaluations are also available to help identify vocational options and develop employment goals and objectives.
Plant Sleeves
Employees at Pollak Industries manufacture more than three million plant sleeves each year in various standard and custom sizes. The plant sleeves are made from 50 lb., wet-strength Kraft paper. These products are shipped all over the nation to growers and nursery operators. Pollak Industries maintains many different sizes of plant sleeves in inventory, and other sizes are available by special order (up to 48’’ high).
Survey Stakes
Lumber is cut into survey and grade stakes which are purchased by local surveyors, paving and grading contractors and building contractors in Florida and Alabama. Pollak Industries manufactures over 1 million survey stakes made from #2-#4 grade yellow pine each year, including hubs, wedges, lathes and special products to meet the unique needs of our customers.
Concrete Products
Workers in the concrete department use concrete to make parking bumpers, air conditioner pads, stepping stones, splash blocks, survey monuments and other items, such as mobile home pads. We also work with customers to create individual concrete products that meet their unique needs. Please call us at 438-5022 to discuss how we can help meet your needs.
